Faraday Cup

The Faraday Cup is a Faraday Pail with a 4mm plug, and can be used in electrostatics experiments for instance by mounting on an electroscope or electrometer.

The Faraday Cup is a metal cup designed to catch charged particles in a vacuum. The resulting current can be measured and used to determine the number of ions or electrons hitting the cup.
