Teltron Thomson Tube S

The Teltron Thomson Tube S consists of a vacuum electron tube with an electron gun and a fluorescent screen. These are positioned with an inclination that matches the beam axis so the path of the beam becomes visible, resulting in the electrical and magnetic fields being suitable for studying. The beam can be deflected either electrically or magnetically depending on whether the built-in plate capacitor or Helmholtz coils are used. The specific charge and velocity of the electrons can be determined by cancelling out the magnetic deflection through the use of an electrical field.
