Leclanché Cell

The Leclanché Cell was invented back in the 1860's by the French chemist, Georges Leclanché and the dry cell was successfully used in telephones, even at the time. This battery consists of a cylindrical zinc electrode, a rod-shaped carbon electrode, a clay vessel and a battery glass. The cell provides a voltage of around 1.5V when filled with a cell electrolyte.

The cell is delivered empty; the solution must be subsequently made for tests to be carried out.
