Thermal Conductivity Equipment Set

The Thermal Conductivity Equipment Set is a kit for the qualitative investigation of the heat conductivity of aluminium (extremely high thermal conductivity) and expanded polystyrene (very low thermal conductivity). Constructed from materials with opposing levels of conduction, the difference in material temperatures is easily discerned with a touch, even at room temperature.

In the experiment ice cubes are placed on each plate, the ice cube on the seemingly colder aluminum plate can be observed to melt much more quickly than the one placed on the seemingly warmer plastic plate and will melt very little. Two rubber rings to prevent the ice cubes slipping, or resulting water spillage complete the kit.
