The Buoyancy Apparatus is a piece of apparatus for demonstrating the buoyancy of fluids.
The apparatus consists of a flat ground glass tube and a plastic disk with a rubber coating. The disk acts as a base plate for the tube and has a long string attached to it. The base plate makes a watertight connection to the glass tube and when submerged the plate doesn't sink as buoyancy keeps it pushed up against the tube.
