Daniell Cell

The Daniell Cell is otherwise known as a Galvanic cell and is named after John Frederic Daniell. Constructed using a cylindric zinc and copper electrode, a clay vessel and a battery glass, the Daniell Cell is designed to study the properties of an electrochemical cell. A cell electrolyte fills the container and delivers a voltage of 1.1V.

The cell is delivered empty; the solution must be subsequently made to fill it.
