Edu-Logger Soil Moisture Logger Sensor

The Edu-Logger Soil Moisture Logger Sensor is based on measuring the vacuum pressure in a tensiometer.

The Edu-Logger Soil Moisture Logger Sensor features a tensiometer which is a closed tube with a special ceramic part at the end.

The Edu-Logger Soil Moisture Logger Sensor is used by filling the tensiometer with water and placing in the soil. If the soil is dry, water goes out by diffusion through the ceramic holes and vacuum pressure is created in the tensiometer. When we wet the soil, the vacuum in the tensiometer pulls water into the tensiometer and the vacuum decreases, this is why soil moisture is measured in pressure level.

What makes the Edu-Logger Soil Moisture Logger Sensor different to other systems?

  • Very simple operation
  • Unbeatable value for money
  • System allows wireless connection
  • Robust hardware and attractive design
  • Each sensor is in itself a full data acquisition system
  • No cable clutter and therefore a very simple construction of experiments
  • The modular plug and play system allows the connection of sensors in a chain, in any order

Features of the Edu-Logger Soil Moisture Logger Sensor

  • Saves up to 5 experiments in its flash memory
  • Calibration is done by pressing a push-button
  • Changing ranges and gains is done through software
  • Experiments run with or without a computer
  • Saved experiments in the Logger Sensor can be uploaded to a computer at any time
  • Converts the measured parameter into a processed value (°C, °F, Lux, dB, mA, V, etc.)
