Torsion Apparatus Supplementary Set

The Torsion Apparatus Supplementary Set comprises nine cylindrical bars of different materials. The bars are for measuring torsion, directivity and shearing modulus in conjunction with the Torsion Apparatus.

Uses of the Supplementary Set

The set is suitable for these experiment topics, in conjunction with the rest of the Torsion Apparatus:

• Torsion on cylindrical bars
• Determining the shear modulus

• 1 x Cylindrical bar made of steel (d: 2mm, l: 500mm)
• 6 x Cylindrical bars made of brass/copper/aluminium (d: 2mm, l: 300/500mm)
• 2 x Cylindrical bars made of aluminium (d: 3/4mm, l: 500mm)
