Drop and Launch Apparatus

The Drop and Launch Apparatus is ideal equipment for demonstrating the independence of the horizontal and vertical components of motion. By using two steel balls as test bodies, the apparatus consists of a launching rail and returning spring mounted on a wooden base. When the rail is triggered, one ball falls while the other is launched horizontally although both will hit the floor at the same time. For easy storage, the holes in the wooden base can be used to hold the balls when not in use.
